Fluid-Particulate Flow: Pellet Mixing

 

 

Videos of pellet submergence at various impeller speeds. The videos are named as follows: sfm_pelletdiameterinmm_pelletloadinginkg_impellerspeedinrpm.avi .

 

With an increase in impeller speed the pellets start submerging into the fluid. For a pellet loading of 1.5 kg and 16 mm diameter pellets with a height to diameter ratio of 1.4:1 the critical submergence speed was found to be about 180 rpm from physical modelling experiments and simulations.
